Freightliner just announced a great new program called "Become a Team Run Smart Pro" where you have the opportunity to get the keys to a brand new Cascadia Class 8 Tractor. This program is an evolution from The Slice of Trucker Life program, which started in 2008 introducing the Cascadia and the Detroit DD15.
After applying and getting accepted into the Slice ofLife Program four years ago, my involvement included blogging and talking about my truck to drivers during truck shows and in truck stops. This experience gave me the opportunity to share my knowledge of trucks and the industry. One of my favorite memories was spending a couple of hours with another driver to check the oil in my Cascadia and answer his questions about the new truck and engine. Throughout the Slice of Life program I went from being excited each time I saw a Cascadia on the road to now expecting to see the Cascadia in truck stops, at the docks, and on the highways.
I never could have imagined all the learning and opportunities the program has allowed me to participate in. I am now fortunate to transfer from the Slice of Trucker Life program into a Team Run Smart Pro. Becoming a Team Run Smart Pro is an awesome opportunity to help others by giving back some of the knowledge we have acquired from our years in the industry. The Team Run Smart Pros will be driving the Cascadia Evolution with the latest in technology and providing feedback to Freightliner, fleet owners, current and future drivers. If you are one of the four additional drivers who are accepted into the program, we will work with industry experts on the Team Run Smart website, have the chance to write about our experiences, and share some of the best industry practices we have learned along our journey.
