There was a long line of people checking out the Cascadia their family members built.
On Saturday, October 20th, the Freightliner factory in Cleveland, NC held a “family day” for their workers and families. I took my 2011 Cascadia to the event. Many of the plant workers enjoyed showing their spouse and children what they build during their time at work. Many families enjoyed an up close look inside and out of the Cascadia. Freightliner provided many fun activities throughout the event and everyone seemed to have a great time.
After the event, it was time for me to say good-bye to the Cascadia which I’ve driven for 250,360 miles. This truck was very reliable, safe and comfortable throughout the last two years. I’m happy to report the fuel mileage performance records of this truck which attained a lifetime fuel average of 8.6 on paper and 8.7 by the engine report. The recorded highest mileage for “one day” was 11.1 with the worst being 6.8 (pushing a foot of snow all day.) During its 50,000 mile oil change intervals, the Detroit DD15 engine never consumed more than a quart and a half of oil between changes. The Cascadia was rattle free. This truck will be sold to a lucky owner.
Upon returning the Cascadia, I picked up a new 2013 Cascadia Evolution. My journey with this new truck began today and I look forward to sharing more about this amazing truck in my next blog.
