The weather was beautiful; 30 degrees and sunny, quite different from the cold freezing rain that greeted me last year when I arrived in Columbia Falls, Maine. Like I told someone else; it's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here. I arrived here on Wednesday, December 9th to get loaded with Christmas wreaths as a volunteer trucker for Wreaths Across America. I want to thank Freightliner Trucks for the use of a new Cascadia Evolution and Lava Enterprises for the use of a 53' van and making it all possible for me to participate.
There were many improvements to the loading process in Maine. There was a driver's lounge, complete with TV, snacks, bathroom and fresh coffee. The drivers checked in upon arrival, ensuring a proper order in loading. They even bought lunch for us!
After a few hours waiting, my turn to get loaded came up. I was quickly loaded with a full trailer load of beautiful, fresh Christmas wreaths bound for Arlington National Cemetery. There are over 240,000 graves at Arlington so I'll be one of many trucks there bringing in the Christmas wreaths to honor some of our nation's heroes.
