There are a lot of great looking trucks on the road.  All lit up at night and shining brightly with chrome during the day. While they might look good, I have always treated my truck as a tool to get my work done. I generally do not add anything to my truck that is not necessary. When I do add something to the truck, it’s for safety or to make it easier to use.

For safety and ease of use, I recently added some lights, 12V LED strip lights to be exact. I found one place that was lacking and added the lights. It wasn’t long before I found another area to add some much-needed light...and then another.

First some extra light was needed in the cargo area. The box had a couple of LED ceiling lights, but I pick up and deliver day or night, and a little more light could definitely help move the freight safer.

Then after rambling around in my toolboxes one night, I decided it was time to shed some light on this problem area as well.

Finally, I decided to address one more problem area, under the hood. I do not know why manufacturers have never addressed this area, cars have had lights there for years. As much as we check this area, day and night, it seemed appropriate to light it up as well.

For a minimal cost and very minimal effort, I now have all these areas lit up and ready for the winter where we tend to spend more time in the dark. These are very simple projects and all the supplies are easily found online and each project can be done in less than an hour each.
