Over the coming weekend, I plan on making some visits to my local thrift stores in the area to search for some good books to take along on the road. It’s always fun to look on the shelves and see what I can find. In the past, I’ve managed to locate some great books on business and various other interesting subjects. Some of these books have helped me in business strategy, marketing and negotiating. Many of the publications have changed the way I conduct my business.

If you’ve never been to a thrift store, I challenge you to get out there and check out the local Salvation Army Store or Goodwill. You can find almost anything written from the early 1900′s to current. The book selection usually isn’t in any order and you never know what you’ll find on any given day. Most of the time, I’ll come across a few great finds that surprise me. Usually, I’m not looking for anything in particular. These books cost only $2.00 – $3.00 so if they disappoint me, I haven’t spent a fortune. If you have some free time, I hope you check out your local thrift store book selection… happy hunting.

Henry, what book helped you the most? Any good ones that will help a driver make the transition from "company driver" to "contractor"?
