I remember hearing drivers talking about Corporate Lodging and the savings that this service provided for them. Finally, I checked into this service myself and found out what it was all about. My brother in law owns 2 hotels so I asked him if this was legitimate and he assured me that it was and encouraged me to join. He explained to me that I could save a lot of money over the retail rates that walk in customers pay.
During the week, most hotel rooms are vacant as leisure travel takes place on the weekends primarily. Truckers and other professions that travel a lot have banded together in the CLC Lodging program (known as Corporate Lodging) to leverage their purchasing power of hotel rooms during the slow weekday period in order to encourage discounts for rooms that would otherwise be unfilled, resulting in no income for the property. The hotels that participate realize that it's better to discount 20-40% on a room, then getting nothing for it.
When you join, you will be issued a CheckINN direct card that you present at check in. They will bill CLC directly and then a few days later, CLC will bill you the discounted rate plus a $5 fee for the service. You can find out more about it by following this link.
I use their website on my iPad while searching for a hotel in the area that I want to stay. The site has a great hotel search function, but if you only have a smart phone, they have an Android and iPhone app for hotel searching as well. The search function on the website has parameters where you choose hotels with truck parking. I must warn you that you need to Google map the address because what they consider truck parking usually will not handle a tractor and 53' trailer. That's where the site Hotels4Truckers.com comes in handy. Until next time, safe travels!
