Picture2.pngI got an envelope from my Trucker Buddy class. It always brings a smile to my face.

It is always a pleasure when I get home, and there is an envelope from my Trucker Buddy class.  For those of you not familiar with Trucker Buddy it is a trucking pen pal program that has been around for many years. The concept is two-fold, one to bring awareness that there is a driver in every truck, and in turn, the driver does not feel alone in the truck as they are sharing adventures with their pen pal class.

As the school year progresses, I get to learn the personalities of the students in my class and watch them grow and mature. The teacher will be the link to handle all correspondence between the driver and the students.

If you decide to become involved, do not worry about coming up with something exciting. What we take for granted is it’s all very exciting when shared with the students. One example is sharing that I have a refrigerator in my truck or that I have bunk beds. Pictures are also fascinating, showing the places we travel and what all we get to see. Soon you will find that you are always looking for something to share with your class.

Get involved as you will find you get back more than give. The students are a bright spot in my day.
