This book and more information about food addictions can be found here: Authority Nutrition

The book reminded me not only of food addictions but also mindless eating and that is a trap that we can fall into easily while driving. Trying to stay alert or wanting something to snack on we reach for a large bag of chips and a pop and next thing we know that bag of chips is gone and so is the soda. While not meaning to eat the WHOLE bag we mindlessly let our hand stray into the bag over and over again until we search around the bottom looking for crumbs.

This e-book made me stop and think of the foods that once I start eating I want the food to be bottomless and I can eat till stuffed. Probably one of my worst problems is Macaroni and Cheese and just about made anyway is fine with me. The other is M & M's and Good & Plenty’s; both will be devoured until there is no more.

There are a couple of ways to handle this and one is to place one serving size in a baggy and leave the rest in the back of the truck out of reach. This works fine if we have the will power to leave the food alone once we get done driving or to not pull over and refill the baggy. The other is to not let that product into the truck and that is my rule with M & M's and Good & Plenty's.

As I read through the book and website I saw myself in a lot he talked about. Kris's addiction is to fast food and luckily that is not my addiction. My addictions are varied and as I am starting to realize what triggers me to keep wanting more I will be taking off of my list of things I can eat. Someday maybe I can eat them again but if it is anything like giving up smoking I may never be able to eat them.

Many years ago when I was finally able to conquer my smoking addiction I knew without a doubt that I would never ever be able to inhale anything into my lungs. With one puff I will be fully addicted once again and back to a three pack a day smoker over night. I have quit once and I will never go through that agony again.

Is it the same with the foods that trigger me to eat more? No I do not think so and I am able to walk away after some time. When I start driving I pack my breakfast and my lunch into a small-insulated lunch box with two ice packs. Baggies are used to control my portions and I have found that it is very easy to snack on sliced carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, and grape tomatoes when driving instead of chips and M & M's.

I am addicted to "JUNK FOODS", I mean was. It all stopped when I was confined to the hospital because of the unbearable pain I felt. What's the finding? Of course, Urinary Tract Infection, what to expect when you eat junk foods everyday plus drinking soda. I know I was so bad with my body. I adjusted my bad eating habits gradually because I thought that I can't live without it until it's zero junk foods entire year. Congrats to me! I just drink more than 8 glasses a day - at first I felt bloated because I wasn't used. The second thing I did is, I ate blueberries which is good to prevent harmful bacteria from adhering to my bladder tissues. After a month, I stopped eating/drinking berries instead I bought resveratrol supplement. I've read a review and you may find it interesting. Check it out: Resveratrol Review

I share your addiction to Good & Plenty. Serving size packs are a good idea. This has worked for me with pretzels, carrot sticks, and celery. They are easily pre bagged.
