I take pride in keeping a clean truck and trailer. However, delivering freight to job sites makes it more of a challenge. It also brings a new set of challenges in delivering freight safely.
Firstly, most of the materials need to be delivered before the road and parking lot are built. You can tell from my pics that it's indeed a mud hole. Then there are workers walking around, building materials laying around, no dock and sometimes no fork lift.
When maneuvering at a job site, try to use a ground guide if possible and make sure all your windows are down so you can hear in case someone is yelling for you to stop before you drop your trailer wheels down an open manhole!
One apartment complex that I delivered to was receiving a 53' dry van load of bath tubs that had to be unloaded by hand and carried quite a distance. Job site deliveries definitely require more work and attention so if you ever draw the short straw and get dispatched to one, be prepared!
