We will be arriving at the show - March 24th and we will stay until March 29th.   On the 24th we will get the truck washed and then head over to the Papa Johns Parking lot to park in the Freightliner area.

Papa Johns Stadium Parking will be the place to be before and after the main trucking show.  There will be shuttles running back and forth from Papa Johns to the convention center through out the day.   In the evening at Papa Johns there is a lot of activities going on including the Freightliner hospitality trailer, Detroit Diesel trailer, Henry Albert's Cascadia and trailer, and our Cascadia Straight truck on display.  Stop by and see if you can find all of the Hidden Mickeys in our Bolt Custom Sleeper.

During the day all of the Freightliner Team Run Smart Pro's will be found in the show booth, helping with the Ride-n-Drives, or at various activities going on during the show.   Stop by and sign up for the free giveaways each day at the Freightliner booth and to see the very nice gifts that can be yours for posting on the Team Run Smart web page.

Thursday March 26th, 7:00 p.m. starting at the OOIDA Stage will be the Trucking Solutions Group - TA/Petro will be sponsoring a Driver Health Awareness walk.  This destination walk is about 1.5 miles round trip and the turning point is Churchill Downs Racetrack.   To learn more about the walk visit the Trucking Solutions Group web page.   Trucking Solutions Group Web Page

Saturday Women in Trucking "Salute to Women Drivers" will be held in the South Wing on the 2nd floor.  The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends with a group picture of all the women CDL holders in their Women in Trucking free Red Shirts!  You do not have to be a member of Women in Trucking to attend and both men and women are encouraged to attend.  This is a great chance to meet other women drivers and network.  It does not hurt that there will be at least two chocolate fountains and a huge goodie bag for all.  Stop by the Women in Trucking Booth to register.

Another event that is near and dear to my heart is the first Trucker Buddy Driver Forum that will be held Friday March 27th , 2:30 to 4:00 in room C108.  This organization allows us to work with students about safety around trucks and these kids pay it forward.  Our Truck Buddy class we have had for the past several years is in France and we work with their English teacher.  We are changing their thoughts and perceptions of what an American truck driver is like and we are influencing the minds of their parents and other teachers they are involved with.  We send the class through the teacher postcards, emails, math problems, little tidbits about the United States, and last year we sent each student a Christmas Ornament with their name, year, and our names.  If you want to learn more about Trucker Buddy or are interested in possible getting involved we look forward to seeing you at the meeting!

For those that are parking their trucks at the Papa Johns Stadium there are a few new rules to accommodate more parking areas.   For the new rules and directions to this area please follow the link and here is the coordinates for a GPS to find the lot.
***TRUCKS MUST ENTER THROUGH GATE D***
For GPS, the address of the Lot D entrance is:
4146 Park Boulevard
Louisville, KY 40209

Linda Caffee

Bob and Linda started their driver careers after their children left home for college in 2000. Bob started as a driver for a large motor carrier with Linda as a rider. They decided to enter the Expedite industry as team drivers in 2005 and purchased their first Freightliner. Both, Bob and Linda have had their Class A licenses since the early 80's starting out driving in the oil field and hauling grain as fill in drivers where Bob worked as a diesel mechanic. Linda worked at the local country courthouse in data processing.

Yes I wish I could attend one too. Many years ago, around 1981 I attended the International Truck Show at the Anaheim Convention Center and it was great. One of these days......
