I have not given you a performance update in quite awhile. There has not been much change in regards to fuel mileage. One new item that I tried was to extend the life of my main engine fuel filters to 100,000 miles. I was told this was possible if you have a Davco Fuel Filter. I had success in accompolishing the 100,000 mile fuel filter replacement without any issues. I have not had to add any make up oil to the Detroit DD15 engine in between its 50,000 mile maintenance intervals. The Detroit DT12 Transmission continues to impress me. My finding are that the DT12 Transmission has been spending 12 to 18 percent of its time in E-coast. I find it incredible that 12 to 18 percent of the time, we don't need the engine to move the truck. When in E-coast, the transmission disengages which allows for the engine to simply idle. Other than these few new items there is nothing new to report on.

Below, you will find the results from my fuel economy spreadsheets.

Thanks for the update Henry. What is the rear end ratio with your Evolution? I run an avg speed between 57-61mph with the DT12 in Econo cruise. I had my dealer reset my cruise limiter settings so that I now have 3 mph over, 5 mph over and 10 mph over. The 10 over is ideal for maximizing Ecoast on long steeper grades in states with higher speed limits while still maintaining a 60mph cruise setting. My current MPG avg in the first 50k mile service interval is 7.26 However being from Canada I typically gross 80 - 86000 lbs. Next project is to move my fuel tanks back 5.75in to unload the front axle and allow sliding the fifth wheel closer to the tractor. Any suggestions?

100,000 miles if you have the Davco filter 50,000 miles is standard

THAT - has amazing me since the first day Henry started putting fuel in it. The mileage has always been high and with only two fuel ups in the 7's it is hard to beat. Henry's truck is the only one I know of that virtually has no empty miles as he loads and unloads at the same docks on both ends. All of his numbers are with a load on.

Henry, what do you mean by extending the life of your fuel filters? Are they supposed to be changed every 100,000 miles?
