Lunch is over and it's time to roll.

After breakfast and morning procedures were completed, our journey continued onto I-40 east and we traveled 195 miles to our mid day stop in Alma, AR at D’s Family Restaurant. We enjoyed a nice lunch and continued on to our final destination to Freightliner of Little Rock, AR. This was an easy driving day with just 341 miles completed. For the test, we were required to travel with all windows closed in the truck. It was quite a shock to step out of the cool air conditioned Cascadia and into the heat and humidity of Arkansas. I think you could have cut the air with a knife as it was extremely hot.

At the end of today, we have completed 1,677 miles since leaving San Diego. The average fuel mileage is up to a remarkable 9.41 mpg. The terrain today was mostly rolling hills which gave me a chance to start experiencing the benefits of the ECoast feature on the new Detroit DT12 transmission … more on this tomorrow.
