The Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas, TX starts tomorrow!  This convention takes place from August 27th through August 29th 2015 and will have a lot of exciting events this year.  Team Run Smart has you covered with some of the things you will not want to miss.

Visit the Landstar Fit for the Road Health and Wellness Pavilion.  Make sure you visit the Health Pavilion because drivers will be able to receive several free health screenings. These screenings include height/weight checks, BMI, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and kidney function. In addition there will be diabetes education, nutritional screening, chiropractic nerve assessment, and eye acuity testing. Women will also have the opportunity to receive mammograms.

Get on the Bone Marrow Registry and/or Donate Blood.  Be sure to visit booth #21167 where you can participate in the bone marrow registry.  It takes just a moment, with a simple mouth swab.  Your participation could save someone’s life!  There will also be a blood drive set up at booth #21169 for the American Red Cross.  For more information visit the Trucking Solutions Group website.

Get a pen pal!  Trucker Buddy will be at GATS, so be sure to stop by their booth and sign up. You can enrich the lives of children with your letters, and help them grow up associating real people (and friends) with the trucking industry.

Learn about important business topics.  The Partners in Business talk will be held on Friday 8/28 at 11am and 1pm and on 8/29 at 1:30 and 3:30 in the GATS theater.  Jeff Amen and Richard DeForest of ATBS will be talking about increasing your revenue and decreasing your expenses as an owner-operator, and other important business topics.  You won’t want to miss it.

Fit for the Road 5k. Join other runners and walkers on August 29 as they take part in the Fit for the Road 5k. Entry is $30 and the benefits will go to the St. Christopher Fund. This is a great way to help promote a healthy lifestyle on the road while supporting a good cause. All participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Visit the GATS Beer Garden. Want to have a beer or two while you catch up with old friends? The GATS Beer Garden is the perfect place to do that after a long day at the show. Each day will feature a different local brewery with three different beers on tap. Brewery’s included are Grapevine Brewery, Franconia Brewery, and Deep Ellum.

Stop by the Freightliner Trucks / Team Run Smart booth.  Visit us at booth #12113 to meet the Team Run Smart Pros, sign up to join the free online community, grab a free gift, and be sure to enter to win a Fitbit Surge at our daily prize drawings!

If you will be driving your truck to Dallas for the show then you will want to know where you can park your truck for free. For more information, visit The Great American Trucking Show website.
