Just as a 2016 update: Johnson's Corner, in (near) Loveland, Colorado, was just bought by Petro. So, (A) TA/Petro now owns the rights to Johnson's Corner's amazing cinnamon rolls, and when you see in at the TA/Petro near you, you can thank the Loveland location. and (B) You can get and use fuel/shower points while your there. It's one of my favorite locations.

Awesome list! Johnson's corner is now a TA.
Iowa 80 keeps getting bigger (now with 900 parking spaces AND the museum) and some of the other stops on here have fantastic food (especially the Jubitz in Portland, Oregon).

If I go to Florida or Maine I might have to pay those a visit at some point. I've been to the rest (and to the Little America in Little America, Wyoming which is not on this list).

Great List. I really Like the Petro I81 in Virginia exit 205( I Think). Thanks for the ideas. I look forward to visiting them in the future.

Nice article Tara! I'll be sharing it where I work - Transport For Christ (TFC) - because two of the locations you listed (Racine and Lodi) are where two of our ministry center are located!!! TFC is a non-profit organization that helps drivers along life's highway. Not only do Racine and Lodi have great amenities for the drivers who visit there, but TFC has a trailer turned 'Mobile' Chapel parked on the premises because the truck stop management care that the drivers who visit can find someone to help them with their personal needs. Knowing these two spots are on the top 10 will be a great encouragement to the staff and volunteer chaplains who work those two locations. Thanks again.

Laurie Newell is a good one truck stop and one where we enjoy stopping.

September 16, 2014 12:54:08 PM

I have been to 6 of them. I agree. For a favorite, I may have to go with Clearwater, MN. They have the best deli sandwiches. Almost anything you could want is within easy walking distance.

Newell Travel Plaza in Newton KS is a great place! It's not on the list. The food is excellent, well-stocked store, and the showers have truck logos rather than numbers; they are the best I've seen!
