I would like to introduce my new 2018 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA. If you happen to be in Louisville, KY for the Mid America Truck Show (March 23-25) be sure to stop by the Freightliner/Team Run Smart booth #34360 to visit and get an up close look at the new Cascadia.

My previous Cascadia was a 125 BBC 72 inch raised roof, 225 inch wheel base, DD15 400 HP/1750 FPT, Detroit DT12 direct drive transmission, 2.28 gear axle ratio in a 6x2 axle configuration. The lifetime fuel mileage on this truck came in at 9.5 mpg.

I am going to give you the main specifications for the new 2018 Cascadia. This truck is a 126 inch BBC 72 inch raised roof sleeper cab. The wheel base is 223 inches. Under the hood, it is powered by the DD15 14.8L 400 HP @1625 RPM, 1900 Governed RPM, 1750 LB/FT @ 975 RPM. The engine transmits its power through the DT12-1750-DH1 HD 12 speed direct drive automated manual transmission. The rear axle is the new Detroit 6x4 40,000 lb. tandem which features larger differentials, precision machined gears, axle lubrication management and a 2.16 axle ratio to support todays quest to operate at lower RPM’s efficiently.

My new Cascadia also features a variety of customized living space options. The sleeper area has been redesigned with an available driver’s lounge. This features a murphy bed which when folded into the wall allows for a dinette/work table and opposing seating. The whole system can be folded flat in less than 30 seconds.

This is just a teaser in regards to all the new features that this truck offers. I look forward to reporting on the performance and redesigned features in upcoming blogs…stay tuned and I hope to see you at the Mid America Truck Show.
